"We started with the elimination of a rule that, despite its failures, at least established a frame of reference to avoid abuses. The repeal of the Rent Law has allowed rents to be agreed with excessive conditions: contracts for two years instead of three, four-month or even quarterly updates based on the consumer price index, which, in many cases, translates into unsustainable increases for tenants," explained Magalí Zirulnikoff.

With increases that double current values, tenants and tenants in Mendoza face a 2025 with increasingly expensive contracts and impossible adjustments to afford. The lack of clear rules aggravates the housing crisis.
