Gov. Shapiro orders US Commonwealth flags to half-staff in honor of fallen firefighters
- Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers ordered state flags flown at half-staff on three dates this year to honor fallen firefighters, with the first observance occurring tomorrow, Sunday, May 3, 2026.
- In accordance with Public Law 107–51, President Donald Trump designated May 2–3 as National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend and ordered federal flags lowered Sunday, May 3.

- Families and fire service members gather in Emmitsburg, Maryland, for the 45th National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service, while nationwide observances including "Bells Across America for Fallen Firefighters" and "Light the Night" allow communities to participate.
