Gov. Maura Healey to attend Holyoke back-to-school event distributing 2,500 backpacks

HOLYOKE — Gov. Maura Healey is expected to join thousands of Holyoke residents today at the 15th annual Holyoke Safe Neighborhood Initiative back-to-school event, one of the region’s largest community gatherings for children and families.The event will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at McNally Field behind Kelly School, with Healey scheduled to attend from about 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Governor Maura Healey is expected to join the Hampden County Sheriff's Office this Saturday for the 15th annual Holyoke Safe Neighborhood Initiative Back to School Event, which aims to distribute 2,500 backpacks to local students.
