Some say it's the best option since the dreams of battery manufacturing were shattered. Others worry about electricity prices as Google gobbles up what hydroelectric power produces.
Google is investing 13 billion euros in Finland over the next two years to build several data centers. However, the investment will further increase the country's electricity needs, which is why the Finnish government is also preparing for the possibility that electricity prices for household consumers will have to be limited in a crisis situation.
