You Can Now Hide Sponsored Ads in Google Search
Google groups all paid ads under one collapsible "Sponsored results" label with a one-click hide option to reduce ad clutter, the company says.

- Google said the redesign aims to make navigation easier, continuing the evolution from ads to sponsored around 2020, Omkar Muralidharan explained in testing.
- The new layout consolidates sponsored links into a collapsible top section with a persistent label, limiting groups to 4 text ads and applying the label to Shopping ads as well.
- A `Hide sponsored results` button allows users of Google Search to collapse all paid listings after scrolling past ads, helping focus on organic search results while observers warn this may blur paid and organic links.
- Amid broader scrutiny of ad displays, Google said Search has become busier in recent years with AI Overviews, and the full rollout should appear soon.
