Google's Gemini AI Is Coming to Volvo Cars

At Google's I/O 2025 event, the company announced it will integrate its Gemini AI chatbot into Volvo cars starting in the coming months.
This integration follows Google's plan to expand Gemini beyond phones and reflects a long-standing partnership between Alphabet and Volvo.
Volvo will lead development and testing of Gemini-powered features, which include natural conversation, language translation, navigation assistance, and access to vehicle manuals.
Alwin Bakkenes of Volvo explained that collaborating with Google allows them to integrate cutting-edge functionalities from a top consumer platform into their products ahead of others.
This partnership will make cars a more intelligent extension of users’ digital lives and could reduce driver distraction by easing cognitive load on the road.
