ITV 'Sorry' After Good Morning Britain Broadcasts Swear Word in Huge Blunder
The broadcaster said the word was missed in concert footage and later removed from streaming versions after viewers complained.
On Wednesday, Good Morning Britain inadvertently broadcast an offensive expletive during a live interview with Australian singer Delta Goodrem after airing concert footage featuring a fan holding a sign with the C-word.
During the broadcast, the 41-year-old singer discussed her upcoming album Pure and addressed speculation about appearing on Strictly Come Dancing, noting she remains 'always open' to the opportunity.
Alert viewers quickly identified the offensive sign in the background, sharing screenshots across social media. One viewer wrote, 'Oops, should have looked at that footage before airing it.'
ITV subsequently issued a formal apology, stating, 'We'd like to apologise to any viewers offended by the accidental appearance of the expletive.' The broadcaster removed the segment from ITVX and catch-up versions.
This incident follows previous technical challenges for the program, which ended 20 minutes early in March after a studio evacuation, forcing presenters Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley to navigate an unexpected schedule change.
