Goldman Sachs Estimates China Bought 35 Tonnes of Gold
Central bank gold purchases remained strong in July, supported by substantial buying that Goldman Sachs Research estimates was carried out by China beyond the amount disclosed in official figures. The bank says sustained demand supports its forecast of $4,900 an ounce by the end of 2026, although changes in US interest rate expectations and investor positioning in the options market could intensify volatility.
