There is no country that has a system capable of eliminating all the potential effects of a violent storm, hurricane or flash flood, said Minister of Interior and Administration Marcin Kierwiński.
A major cleanup effort is underway after a heavy downpour in the Głuchołazy commune in the Opole region. The water that swept through the local villages crept up to houses, washed away yards, and flooded basements. The Bodzanowski Stream overflowed its banks. As a Polsat News reporter reported, bags of materials used for renovations after the 2024 flood were placed near property fences.
Massive storms have already swept through the Nysa district. Areas including Głuchołazy are flooded. The Fire Department confirmed numerous interventions in an interview with "Fakt." The weather has calmed down for now. Some residents are struggling to cope with flooded homes, including a family whose home was destroyed during the massive flood in 2024.
A weather front with heavy rainfall moved through the Opole Voivodeship. By 6:00 PM, firefighters had responded to 52 incidents. Footage posted on social media shows the heavy rain temporarily flooding some streets in Głuchołazy.
