GitHub calls on the European Union to set up a fund to fund open source projects in unbureaucratic terms. The model is the German Sovereign Tech Fund. Open source components form the basis of a large number of products – including many commercial solutions. However, many open source projects do not receive revenue and thus repeatedly reach their limits. According to GitHub, this should change.
