Girl, 16, Dies on Sydney’s Northern Beaches
Emergency services found the teenager unresponsive and she died in hospital as Northern Beaches police investigate the circumstances.
Police have launched an investigation into the death of a 16-year-old girl who died in hospital after being found unresponsive at a Sydney home on Sunday.
Emergency services discovered the 16-year-old unresponsive at an Elanora Heights residence about 5:45 pm on Sunday following a welfare concern reported to authorities.
Paramedics treated the girl at the scene before she was flown to Royal North Shore Hospital in critical condition, where she died on Tuesday night.
The Daily Telegraph reports officers are investigating whether the teenager became unresponsive during a consensual act with a male known to her.
Officers attached to the Northern Beaches Police Area Command continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the 16-year-old's death as the investigation proceeds.
