Gilbert Sun News publisher buys 21 Colorado papers
- In 2025, a strategic partnership was announced between a nonprofit community news organization and Times Media Group, resulting in the sale of 21 Colorado Community Media newspapers based in the Denver metropolitan area to TMG.
- This sale comes after the National Trust’s 2021 purchase of Colorado Community Media and is part of a strategy to concentrate on seven retained newspapers serving communities from the Brighton area up to Idaho Springs, targeting rural and diverse readerships.
- Times Media Group, led by founder Steve Strickbine with deep Colorado roots, currently operates over 60 publications and will provide operational support including printing, page design, and digital services to the Trust Press.
