Giants' Gunner Olszewski Is Feared to Have Suffered Season-Ending Injury
On Friday, New York Giants wide receiver Gunner Olszewski suffered a suspected torn Achilles tendon during OTAs, according to ESPN. The 29-year-old is undergoing tests to confirm the injury.
Following a noncontact injury while running a route, Olszewski grabbed his right leg and "immediately showed significant frustration" as he was carted off the field.
Olszewski, who joined the Giants in 2023, serves primarily as a returner and depth wide receiver, having appeared in 81 career games with five starts. His role was critical given receiver depth needs.
The Giants' receiving corps now faces depth challenges with fellow wide receivers Malik Nabers and Darius Slayton continuing to rehab from injuries.
Olszewski's injury marks the third reported Achilles tear for the team this spring, following defensive lineman Roy Robertson-Harris and undrafted rookie Thaddeus Dixon. The trend raises durability concerns.
