During the summer of 2026, the Rhine passed through an exceptional stretch. This gave the idea to Vincent Kauffmann, an antique postcard dealer in the Petite-France district of Strasbourg, to leave his fonds – "500,000 cards"! – two clichés from the beginning of the last century that he wanted to share.
In recent weeks, the level of the Rhine has reached a record level in the region, considerably limiting trade flows. As a direct consequence of this tension, the transport of fuel has been drastically reduced in the territory, causing shortages in the Alsatian service stations.
