The measure is part of a bill promised by Chancellor Friedrich Merz, the Financial Times reports. It is estimated that around 285,000 pensioners are already working in Germany. By 2035, almost 5 million workers will retire. The German economy is suffering from a huge shortage of qualified personnel.
