Gerik crash: 'I'm sorry… the brakes failed suddenly,' says bus driver
- A chartered bus transporting students of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris from Jertih in Terengganu to the university campus in Tanjung Malim overturned near Tasik Banding, Perak, between 12:30 AM and 1 AM on June 9, resulting in 15 fatalities and 33 injuries.
- The 39-year-old driver, Mohd Amirul Fadhil Zulkifle, reported losing control after the brakes suddenly failed on a bend while the bus was attempting to overtake another vehicle.
