Gerber Recalls some Arrowroot Biscuits over Potential Plastic or Paper Pieces
Gerber recalled limited batches of Arrowroot Biscuits due to supplier-initiated recall over possible soft plastic and paper pieces; no illnesses reported, consumers advised to return products.
- Gerber Products Company announced on Monday, Jan. 26, it is voluntarily recalling batches of Gerber Arrowroot Biscuits due to possible soft plastic and/or paper pieces, with the Singapore Food Agency noting the recall on Jan 27.
- Gerber said the contamination originated with an arrowroot flour supplier that initiated a recall, and Gerber said it is no longer working with that supplier.
- Check the 10-digit batch code on the back of the packaging to identify the three affected batches sold in 155-gram packages, with codes 5209565504, 5252565505, and 5259565505.
- Those affected can return products to the retailer for a refund, Gerber said no illnesses have been reported and is cooperating with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration.
- The product's retail footprint—national U.S. distribution and online listings—means some major supermarkets had not posted recall notices as of Tuesday at 3:15 p.m., according to SFA.
