The Republican majority in the Georgia Senate voted along party lines on March 27 to investigate several organizations founded by former Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams after they agreed to pay the largest fines in state history for campaign finance violations. The New Georgia Project and its independent fundraising arm, the New Georgia Action Fund, were among the groups that were investigated.
