George Michael's Faith Guitar Could Fetch More than £100k
The original Gretsch Synchromatic guitar is expected to fetch up to £120,000, with 31 other George Michael items also going under the hammer.
On October 29, auction house Sworders will sell the 1940s Gretsch Synchromatic 160 guitar George Michael played in the 'Faith' music video, expected to fetch £100,000.
Siobhan Bailey, Michael's former personal assistant who worked with him for 20 years, assembled the collection, and her widower is now organizing the sale of 31 additional lots.
Sworders chairman Guy Schooling described the guitar as the "jewel in the crown" of the collection, with the archive expected to achieve more than £200,000 at auction.
Items include itineraries from Wham!'s 1985 China tour and a gold disc for 500,000 UK sales of 'Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go,' offering glimpses into Michael's career.
Fans can view the items at Sworders in London for a week before the sale, coinciding with the November release of the documentary 'George Michael: The Faith Tour.
George Michael passed away on Christmas Day 2016, at the age of 53.
