Gene Kwon Encourages all Businesses to Focus on Smarter Shipping and Stronger Operations
Kwon says simple process changes and stronger partnerships can help small businesses cut waste as U.S. e-commerce sales topped $1.1 trillion, Census Bureau data show.
Salt Lake City entrepreneur Gene Kwon is urging small businesses to simplify operations and invest in efficiency to ensure sustainable long-term growth in today's competitive economy.
As U.S. e-commerce sales reached more than $1.1 trillion in recent years, small businesses face mounting pressure from shipping costs and operational delays, prompting Kwon to argue leadership should prioritize sustainable systems over rapid expansion.
"People don't have to overhaul everything overnight," Kwon said, noting that small, consistent improvements often yield the biggest results when owners review internal processes rather than focusing solely on immediate sales.
Kwon, a board member of the Package Shippers Association, encourages professionals to prioritize mentorship and industry collaboration; research from SCORE and the U.S. Small Business Administration shows such networks significantly improve survival rates.
Drawing on his background with RealVu Technologies, Kwon maintains that discipline and team-focused leadership remain vital for organizations prioritizing continuous learning and strong partnerships to navigate future challenges.
