A French man has been reported missing in Iran since mid-June, with concerns rising over Iran's alleged policy of detaining foreigners. This comes amid tensions with Iran for reportedly holding two French nationals, Jacques Paris and Cecile Kohler, on espionage charges, which France deems state-sponsored hostage-taking.
Recaptured from Evin prison, bombed last month by Israeli forces, 72-year-old French Jacques Paris and 40-year-old Cécile Kohler are now facing the death penalty. Iranian authorities accuse them of espionage for Mossad, a plot to overthrow the regime and corruption on Earth. The hostages' relatives organized a support rally on Sunday 6 July in Paris.
Detained in Iran for more than three years, the two French have just been charged with "espionage" for Israel and face the death penalty. Their relatives gathered in Paris this Sunday to say "no to abject blackmail and not to the threat of death".
