Gas and fuel costs concern over 75% of voters, poll finds
A Center Square poll found 76% of registered voters say fuel costs have hurt household finances, and about two-thirds say it will affect their vote.
The Center Square Voters' Voice Poll found 61% of registered voters are "very concerned" about recent high fuel price increases ahead of Novembers midterm elections, with most Americans reporting financial strain.
Lower-Income households face the most intense pressure from fuel costs, with 48% reporting a "great deal" of budget impact compared to 31% of high-income households, according to the survey data.
Among political groups, 72% of Democrats and 49% of Republicans report being "very concerned" about fuel costs, while 34% of Donald Trump voters report elevated financial strain.
Approximately two-thirds of respondents said fuel prices will directly influence their votes in Novembers elections, with 56% of Independents indicating the issue will sway their choice.
National average gas prices dropped below $4 per gallon late Sunday for the first time since mid-April, offering potential relief as a 60-day ceasefire in the United States-Israel war with Iran takes effect.
