After several months of tensions around the future of the Paris department store, Galeries Lafayette completed the disposal of the building on Rue de Rivoli.
The sale was expected, it is now active. Galeries Lafayette Group announced on 28 January that it had finalized the sale of the walls of the BHV Marais, rue de Rivoli, to an investor who remained discreet. This operation opens a new phase for the Paris department store, still operated by the Société des Grands Magasins.
The SGM group, co-founded by Frédéric Merlin, who bought the BHV's business fund in 2023, "will continue the operation of the BHV and the development of the department store."
The purchaser "will continue the operation of the BHV and the development of the department store", writes the Galeries Lafayette group in a press release.
The Galeries Lafayette group today announced that it had "completed" the disposal of the walls of the Paris department store, without communicating the name of the buyer.
