Gadkari inaugurates barrier less Mundka-Bakkarwala toll plaza on UER-II

- The Mundka-Bakkarwala Toll Plaza marks the second Multi-Lane Free Flow system in India, following the May 1 inauguration of the Choryasi Toll Plaza on the Surat-Bharuch section of NH-48 in Gujarat.
- Employing Automatic Number Plate Recognition and FASTag, the system processes vehicles without requiring stops, aiming to reduce queues, travel delays, and fuel consumption for commuters.
- Seventeen fee plazas across nine states—Gujarat, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Assam—are included in the State-owned National Highway Authority of India's national rollout targeting September 2026 completion.
- Beyond the initial rollout, an additional 108+ plazas under the State-owned National Highway Authority of India are scheduled for implementation by March 2027, expanding barrier-less tolling infrastructure nationwide.
