Fundraiser revved for motorcyclist following Vernon crash
A GoFundMe has raised more than $6,400 to help Stacey Winters with surgeries, recovery costs and family support after a Vernon crash.
- One week ago, the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision at 35th Avenue and 32nd Street, leaving motorcyclist Stacey Winters in the intensive care unit at Kelowna General Hospital.
- Investigation determined Winters was traveling southbound on 32nd Street when he broadsided a Honda Civic that pulled in front of him from 35th Avenue; both drivers were transported to hospital.
- A Gofundme organized by Stephanie Wowdzia has raised more than $6,400 one week after the crash, helping ease financial burden as the community rallies around the family.
- Wowdzia describes Winters as facing a long road ahead with multiple surgeries and uncertain recovery, while his wife Tina remains in a Kelowna hotel to stay by his side.
- Described as tough and resilient, Winters is known as someone who gives back to others, motivating the community to rally around him during his recovery journey.
