- On Wednesday, Sapiens International Corporation launched the inaugural Sapiens Insurance AI Maturity Index, an annual benchmarking tool evaluating artificial intelligence adoption across insurance carriers of all sizes.
- Conducted by Research in Finance, the survey of 475 senior insurance professionals found 87% of insurers prioritize agentic AI, though only 16% have adopted it.
- Results show 67% of respondents believe insurance AI will reach full autonomy within two to three years, while 77% of insurers say AI cuts product deployment times by an average of three months.
- Despite 86% of users reporting confidence in AI decisions, 53% of AI work undergoes human review, with 15% of automated choices overridden by personnel.
- Sapiens CEO Paul Wheeler warned insurers must "accelerate their timelines or risk being left behind," stating that right strategies help firms build trust and deliver superior digital user experiences.
