UK Police Charge Man with Attempted Murder over Train Stabbing, Wounding 11 People
Anthony Williams, 32, faces 11 attempted murder charges after stabbing 10 people on an LNER train and a man at a DLR station, police said.
- On October 31 and November 1, Anthony Williams, 32, was charged with 11 counts of attempted murder after stabbing a man at Pontoon Dock DLR station, east London, and knifing ten on the Peterborough–King’s Cross LNER service.
- Cambridgeshire Police said they were called to three incidents in Peterborough before the train attack, including sightings of a knifeman at a barber shop in Fletton at 7.25pm and 9.25am, and voluntarily referred themselves to the IOPC.
- Eleven people were treated after the attacks, at least five have been discharged, and a rail crew member remains in hospital with stable injuries in Huntingdon station.
- On Monday, Williams appeared at Peterborough Magistrates' Court and confirmed his identity; magistrates remanded him to appear at Cambridge Crown Court on December 1 to face 10 attempted murder charges in Cambridgeshire plus one in London.
