Health chiefs will intensify mosquito control and community warnings after traps found virus-carrying insects, with five mild human cases confirmed this season.

- The region has recorded five mild West Nile cases this season, with a patient from Coria del Rio confirmed on Friday, July 24, via PCR testing at the Virgen del Rocio University Hospital.
- Health officials urge residents to prevent bites by using topical repellents, installing mosquito nets, and eliminating stagnant water in gardens, plant pots, or toys where larvae develop.
- Surveillance networks currently monitor fifteen Andalusian municipalities under alert status, using 213 traps distributed across the region to track mosquito densities and virus circulation.
