Drivers who visited gas stations on Saturday, October 3rd, might have been in for a surprise. New fuel prices appeared on pylons, and maximum rates for gasoline and diesel were significantly reduced. The change took effect on October 3rd.
A fuel price cap has come into effect in Poland, financed by a new windfall tax on oil companies, making petrol and diesel significantly cheaper for drivers.
A new "Lower Fuel Prices" (CPN) package, approved following yesterday's decision by Karol Nawrocki, comes into effect on Saturday. The program once again covers only petrol and diesel users, leaving drivers using LPG without support, money.pl reports.
The third installment of the Lower Fuel Prices (CPN) package launched at midnight. From Saturday to Monday inclusive, a liter of 95-octane gasoline will cost no more than PLN 6.73, 98-octane gasoline - PLN 7.59, and diesel - PLN 7.88. The mechanism was launched following the entry into force of the law on the tax on extraordinary profits of fuel companies, signed by President Nawrocki.
