The high petrol prices lead to tank tourism in Poland and the Czech Republic. The extra way also costs fuel.
Due to significantly lower prices, many German drivers are currently driving to refuelling in Swinemünde, Poland. Now the city is sounding the alarm: petrol stations were temporarily sold out because of the crowd, city president Joanna Agatowska demands restrictions on fuel sales. This causes displeasure on the German side.
More and more motorists are driving to neighbouring countries because of the rising fuel prices in order to refuel more cheaply. Here in the region, many drive across the Czech border. However, the main customs office in Regensburg warns all tank tourists not to take too much fuel back with them to Germany.
