Former Disney+ President Alisa Bowen Named CEO of Fubo

Bowen will oversee Fubo after Disney’s merger with Hulu + Live TV gave the company a 70% stake, officials said.

  • On Thursday, Fubo appointed Disney+ President Alisa Bowen as chief executive officer, effective July 10, replacing co-founder David Gandler who led the streaming service for 11 years.
  • Disney now maintains a 70% stake in Fubo following the merger of Fubo and Hulu + Live TV last fall, which settled a 2025 antitrust lawsuit involving the Venu sports venture.
  • Bowen brings nearly 30 years of operational experience leading Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+. She will receive an annual base salary of $1.58 million with a performance bonus targeted at 120%, according to regulatory filings.
  • Gandler resigned from the board and withdrew his nomination for re-election. He stated, "We have built a dynamic streaming platform," adding it has been "an honor to lead Fubo since co-founding the company."
  • Pending approval at the July 28, 2026, annual meeting, Bowen is expected to join Fubo's board. Combined, Fubo and Hulu + Live TV entered 2026 with 6.2 million subscribers, trailing YouTube TV.
