In an interview with LRT, the United States envoy to Belarus, John Coale, called on Lithuania to restore relations with Belarus, hold a vice-ministerial meeting, and allow the transportation of potash fertilizers through Lithuanian territory, as this is beneficial to both Europe and the United States itself.
As the United States (US) special envoy to Belarus John Coale urges Lithuania to restore relations with Minsk, Seimas Speaker Juozas Olekas says that political talks with the regime of Alexander Lukashenko are really unnecessary now. However, the social democrat does not rule out that the current technical talks with Belarus may develop into a different kind of dialogue in the future.
