Record seizure of psychotropic drugs in Algeria. Police seized more than 30 kg of cocaine and over ten million capsules of pregabalin, a psychotropic substance. Twenty-five suspects linked to an "international network" were arrested and brought before the public prosecutor on Thursday, August 20.
Algerian authorities have revealed a massive security operation that resulted in the seizure of more than 10 million capsules of pregabalin, along with large quantities of cocaine, and the arrest of 25 people suspected of being linked to an international organized criminal network.
The Central Service for Combating Illicit Drug Trafficking (SCLTIS) has dismantled the criminal structure of an organized international network and seized more than 10 million psychotropic capsules and more than 33 kg of cocaine, according to a statement released Thursday by the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
