Reviled in the US, MS-13 Gang Pulls Bloody ‘Rescue’ of Jailed Leader in Honduras
AROOSTOOK COUNTY, MAINE, JUL 11 – Federal agents are arresting MS-13 members to dismantle the gang and deport individuals, with more than 2,700 terrorist group affiliates arrested since January, officials said.
- Federal and Border Patrol agents arrested multiple MS-13 gang members in locations including Maine, Detroit, Omaha, Dallas, and Boston in 2023 and beyond.
- These arrests came after President Donald Trump issued a directive in January that classified transnational criminal groups, including MS-13, as foreign terrorist organizations to strengthen enforcement efforts.
- The detained individuals include a Salvadoran gang member who served 20 years for murder, another wanted for multiple homicides and extortion in El Salvador, and a woman linked to an assassination attempt still held by ICE.
- Patricia Hyde, acting director of ICE ERO Boston, emphasized that the individual has been confirmed as part of a dangerous international criminal gang and represents a risk to the safety of people living in Massachusetts.
