WATKINS GLEN INTERNATIONAL, WATKINS GLEN, NEW YORK, AUG 8 – Corey Heim secured his sixth win of the season after a triple overtime finish at Watkins Glen, leading 44 laps and holding off Daniel Hemric by 0.202 seconds.
- Following a four-year hiatus, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series returned to Watkins Glen International, drawing several Cup Series drivers for the Mission 176 at The Glen.
- Amid Friesen’s recovery, NASCAR Cup Series driver Christopher Bell replaced Stewart Friesen after his Super DIRTcar Series crash in Quebec.
- During the closing stint, Corey Heim took the lead from Christopher Bell on one of the late-race restarts and held off Daniel Hemric after a triple overtime restart to win.
- Heading into the postseason, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series has only two more races to set the 10-driver playoff field, and Friesen can request a waiver to stay in if NASCAR grants it.
