From human body to ashes. Cremator remembers the face of the first deceased

A nice person, teetotaler and non-smoker. This is how Karel Kopfrkingl, an orderly employee of the Prague crematorium, describes himself, and he is the main character of the novella The Cremator. And it is precisely this respect and reverence for the deceased that he shares with 46-year-old Tomáš Vladyka, who has been working at the Liberec crematorium for four years.
