According to the indictment, a 21-year-old from Netanya drove a Mercedes at speeds of up to 99 km/h on an urban road, zigzagging between lanes and making dangerous overtaking maneuvers - until he hit a vehicle next to which police officer Yaniv Elkayim was standing during traffic enforcement. Elkayim was killed at the scene and another female driver was injured. His license is expected to be revoked until the end of the proceedings.
The State Prosecutor's Office filed today (Sunday) with the Central Lod District Court a serious indictment against Daniel Yevchenko, a 21-year-old man, for the frivolous death of the late policeman Yaniv Elkaim.
