Friday's letters: UCP enabling separatist cause

The First Nations people are trying to block the separatists' petition on separation, because they believe it is a threat to their way of life and they believe that it is unconstitutional. They had to hire their own lawyers. Why is it that the separatists get to be represented by government lawyers to counter the First Nations efforts, as this case works its way through the courts?
