Callum Vinson to Play Jason Voorhees in 'Crystal Lake'
CRYSTAL LAKE, JUL 18 – Callum Vinson joins Peacock and A24's eight-episode prequel series focusing on Pamela Voorhees and young Jason's story before the original Friday the 13th events.
- Deadline reports that Callum Vinson has landed the role of Jason Voorhees in Crystal Lake, with filming underway in West Milford, New Jersey, on June 18th.
- According to Deadline, series focus on Pamela Voorhees, with Linda Cardellini cast as her, portraying a mother who gave up a singing career to raise a special needs child before turning dark after tragedy.
- Joining the ensemble are four recurring guest stars: Nick Cordileone, Joy Suprano, Danielle Kotch and Phoenix Parnevik.
- The series marks the franchise’s return after 16 years of dormancy, while Showrunner Brad Caleb Kane will promote Crystal Lake at San Diego Comic-Con ahead of its debut.
- While the exact debut remains unannounced, Crystal Lake is due later this year or in 2026, produced by Peacock and A24 for a 2026 release.
