SpaceX criticized the European Union’s plans for the distribution of satellite spectrum, a key element in the growth plans for the Elon Musk-led company’s Starlink service following its record-setting initial public offering.

The European Union's plan is to assign part of the satellite spectrum to European operators and restrict access for the United States and China is jeopardizing the work of Starlink communications, including on Ukraine.

The European Union could set aside most of the frequencies considered ideal for mobile satellite internet for EU actors (for governmental and commercial purposes), which would affect the projects of Amazon Leo and Starlink. Moreover, Starlink would have already reacted via a document sent to Brussels.

SpaceX reportedly hit out at a European Commission (EC) plan for distributing satellite spectrum across the bloc, warning current proposals could directly impact connectivity with mobile devices.
