With the opening of the Koralm tunnel, a century project of public transport started to operate on Friday. The first train from Graz to Klagenfurt passed through the 33 km long tunnel with plenty of political prominence on board, the journey between the two provincial capitals lasted only 39 minutes. This is celebrated on both sides of the Koralm.
Today (12 December) the Koralmbahn will be officially opened with ceremonies at the main railway stations in Graz and Klagenfurt.
