- Freeport LNG announced on May 21, 2025, that it returned its third LNG storage tank to service at its Houston, Texas liquefaction facility.
- The restoration followed a June 8, 2022 incident that damaged LNG piping and forced the tank offline for nearly three years while recovery and safety improvements took place.
- As part of its recovery efforts, the company implemented improvements to remove production constraints, which boosted LNG output and enabled a safely achieved record monthly production in April 2025.
