The quantitative quota for the duty-free import of electric vehicles by natural persons to Belarus has been exhausted and has been reported to the Customs Committee. In the future customs declaration of electric vehicles, owners must take into account the payment of a customs duty of 15 per cent of the value of the vehicle, while the exhaustion of the quota does not eliminate the possibility of exemption from VAT.
"In planning for a further Customs declaration, account should be taken of the need to pay a customs duty of 15 per cent of the value of the vehicle", noted the agency.
