France's Mistral announces new AI model
The 1-trillion-parameter model is in public preview and will let customers self-host cyber defense tools, with weights due on Oct. 27, Mistral said.

- ML4 was trained over two months on 4,000 NVIDIA Grace Blackwell GPUs in Mistral's own European data centers and covers more than 160 languages, including every official EU language.
- Developers and cybersecurity leaders can test ML4 immediately, with full weights releasing October 27. Guillaume Lample, chief scientist and co-founder of Mistral, said the cyber defense capabilities enable enterprises to defend against threat actors jailbreaking closed models.
