France announces it will abandon Windows—the country is accelerating plans to ditch the software from the US as part of its pursuit of digital sovereignty. Already, 80,000 employees at the French health insurance fund are no longer using Teams, Zoom, or Dropbox. Now, much more radical systemic changes are planned. Literally. By 2027, France is expected to be Windows-free.
