PIEDRAS BEGRAS, COAH.- The bishop of the Diocese of Piedras Negras, Alfonso Gerardo Miranda Guardiola, acknowledged that the exploitation of fracking to extract gas has a positive side in generating jobs and strengthening the economy; however, he warned that doubts persist about its possible negative impacts on ecosystems.Monseñor stressed that the Church's main concern is the preservation of land, biodiversity and the integrity of aquifers.
