A majority of Germans support the resumption of military conscription ahead of a new military service law being debated in parliament this week, a poll by Forsa shows.
While the Union and Social Democrats are still arguing about the new military service law, the opinion of the Germans is clear: more than half of the citizens are in favour of a return to compulsory military service. This applies equally to voters of the Union and the SPD.
