Former top prospect Jarred Kelenic takes his latest big league swing with the Texas Rangers
Jarred Kelenic hit .340 with three homers and 11 RBIs in 13 Triple-A games before Texas promoted him again.
Jarred Kelenic is playing for his fourth team in four seasons and has appeared in the major leagues for a second franchise this year after joining each team on a minor league contract.
Kelenic made his first start for the Texas Rangers in left field against San Diego shortly before his 27th birthday.
Kelenic was a top baseball prospect who debuted for Seattle at age 21 after being traded to the Mariners in a deal involving Robinson Canó and Edwin Diaz.
After signing a minor league deal on June 2, Kelenic hit.340 with three home runs and 11 RBIs at Triple-A Round Rock, leading to his return to the major leagues.
