Taipei, May 7 (CNA) Former President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) will begin a trip to Europe on Friday, with stops in Lithuania and Denmark, where she is scheduled to speak at a democracy forum, her office said in a statement Wednesday.

Former Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen will visit Lithuania on Friday at the invitation of Dalia Grybauskaitė, Taiwan's CNA news agency and Radio Taiwan reported on Wednesday. Tsai Shu-ching, a spokeswoman for Tsai Ing-wen's office, said the visits to Lithuania and Denmark are aimed at strengthening ties with European democracies and deepening the continent's knowledge of Taiwan.
