Canes Win 2nd Stanley Cup Title
Taylor Hall, Jackson Blake and Nikolaj Ehlers scored as Brandon Bussi made 22 saves in Carolina’s 3-0 title-clinching shutout.
On Sunday, June 14, the Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 3-0 in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final, securing the franchise's second Stanley Cup title and first since 2006.
Taylor Hall opened the scoring less than four minutes into the game, followed by Jackson Blake's goal, while goaltender Brandon Bussi recorded 22 saves to secure the shutout victory.
Entering the post-season as top seeds in the Eastern Conference, the Hurricanes maintained a 16-3 record throughout the playoffs, marking the second-best playoff record since the NHL went to four best-of-seven series in 1987.
Hurricanes captain Jordan Staal earned the Conn Smythe Trophy as the Most Valuable Player of the playoffs, becoming the oldest winner of the award at 37 years old.
Vegas had stunned the top-seeded Colorado Avalanche with a four-game sweep in the Western Conference Final before falling to the Hurricanes, seeking their second Stanley Cup in franchise history.
